NEW DELHI: The Indian Premier League (IPL) will consist of 10 teams from 2022 as BCCI decided to auction two new teams in May during the final of the next tournament.
BCCI leaders, including President Surav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah, met on Saturday to follow up on various policy decisions approved by the IPL Governing Council earlier this year.
“The 10-team IPL will begin next year, and the bidding process and finalization of the new franchises will be completed by May of this year,” a senior BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity.

“Once the teams are finally formed, they will be able to start laborious operational work,” the source added.
No Prithvi or Padikkal for ODI
